Song Joong-ki Gushes About His Wife: “Katie Is Perfect in Languages and Cooking”

On December 26, a video titled “Song Joong-ki Who Surprised Choi Hwa-jung with His Boyish Charm Told His Newlywed Stories” was uploaded to the YouTube channel “Hello Choi Hwa-jung.” In the video, Song Joong-ki was invited to Choi Hwa-jung’s home, where she prepared a meal for him.

Meeting Choi for the first time, Song Joong-ki brought a gift, saying, “My wife suggested I bring this from Rome when she heard I was meeting you.” He expressed how much he misses his wife and children, who are currently in Rome while he is in Seoul for filming.

Choi Hwa-jung asked about Katie’s cooking skills, to which Song Joong-ki replied, “She’s similar to you in many ways. Even her plating and the way she prepares water with lemon and basil are just like you.”

He added, “I’ve recently become obsessed with olive oil. I started taking a spoonful every morning for health reasons. I wasn’t like this before, but after meeting my wife, I can’t eat without it anymore. We even use olive oil extracted from our own olive trees at home. It feels so rewarding and satisfying.”

When asked if Katie speaks Korean, Song Joong-ki proudly said, “Her language skills are incredible. She even says things like ‘Mother, have you eaten?’ to my mom. It’s not perfect, but it’s so adorable.”

He also shared, “My wife is even more respectful of etiquette than me who is Korean. One time, I was a bit late to an appointment, and she scolded me, saying, ‘How could you keep someone waiting?’”

Song Joong-ki continued praising Katie, saying, “She gives me constructive criticism and helps me a lot. I feel like I’m only bragging about her at this point,” he added shyly.

Song Joong-ki married Katie Louise Saunders, a British actress, in January last year. The couple welcomed their first son in June of the same year and recently celebrated the birth of their second child, a daughter.
